About Us

Based in the Pink city, founded by a trio of free spirited, adventurous and zealous women, SURAHI is the culmination of a 13 years of experience in design and production of Apparel and textiles. Our designs are deeply influenced by the rich heritage of Indian textiles merged with a contemporary minimal appeal.
We are one of the few design houses focusing exclusively on hand embroidery- Gotapatti into contemporary minimal forms — crafted in limited editions, empowering craftsmen, and keeping the heritage of hand-embroideries alive.

Our Story

SURAHI was born at the intersection of three very different strengths. What began as conversations between three women from different worlds slowly grew into a shared vision.

Hansa Khatwani

With a background in fashion and textile design, Hansa Khatwani leads the creative vision of SURAHI.

She works closely with textiles, sampling, and new developments — translating ideas into tangible pieces while remaining deeply rooted in craft her heart lies in- Gotapatti.

Riju Sikri

Coming from a sports background, Riju Sikri has played national-level women’s cricket. Years of competing at the highest level have shaped her discipline, resilience, and uncompromising respect for process.

At SURAHI, she leads the front end of the brand — building relationships, engaging with clients, and ensuring that every interaction reflects the values and intent behind the work.

Pratima Bharti

Pratima Bharti brings with her a background few fashion brands can claim — Indian Women’s cricket. With over a decade of experience as a selector, her ability to identify potential, nurture talent, and build high-performing teams translates seamlessly into the way SURAHI functions today.

At SURAHI, she leads production with a sharp eye and steady hand, creating systems that are efficient, thoughtful, and built for long-term growth. Her approach ensures that both people and processes are supported — allowing craft, creativity, and consistency to thrive together.

At Surahi, we are dedicated to the art of traditional craftsmanship, creating luxurious pieces that combine time-honoured techniques with modern design.

Our products and textiles are crafted using methods such as hand-embroideries, screen printing, block printing.

Each process is carried out with precision and finesse, ensuring that every piece has a unique texture, embellishment, and character that speaks of the skill of the artisans behind it.

We take pride in authenticity of our methods:

Screen printing allows us to apply intricate designs with great detail, ensuring that patterns are clear and precise.

Block printing, a centuries-old technique using hand-carved wooden blocks, brings a tactile and personal touch to our fabrics, where every imprint tells a story.

Meanwhile, our use of traditional embroideries, GOTAPATTI the most of all, helps us produce rich, luxurious heirloom pieces that reflect the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Our designs are all created in-house and draw inspiration from our extensive archive of antique textiles. These designs reflect a wide range of influences from India, Persia, France, Italy, Africa, Japan and more. By reinterpreting classic motifs from these regions, we infuse each collection with a sense of history while keeping the look fresh and relevant for modern aesthetic.

Every style is produced in limited quantities to ensure meticulous attention to detail, and each piece is crafted with care, skill, and a deep respect for the art of textile making.
